A brief history of AWM Potatoes
Andrew Morton first established AWM in October 2000 supplying catering companies in London from our first premises at High Roding. You may think why potatoes? Well, the Morton family history goes way back to 1946 when William Morton started his own potato business. Over 60 years and 3 generations later the family tradition continues.
A few years on, the decision was made to start growing our own potatoes. So with not only purchasing potatoes but growing them too, we found ourselves in a good position to find a new premises.
Our location
In looking for a suitable location for a potato packing plant, we searched far and wide in Norfolk, Essex and the surrounding counties until we found a location closer to home than we thought we would find.
Cressing Park Farm in Cressing was recommended to us. At the time it was just a livery business however after sealing the deal we soon not only continued this business but relocated our entire operations to this new, beautiful location.
Where we are now
Now, in 2009 we are now enjoying 9 years of growth and prosperity, as well as looking to expand and make new partnerships continually, no matter where you are in the world! So whether you need potatoes supplying to you overseas or just down the road please get in touch.
